She has been officially selected to represent Papua New Guinea at the upcoming Genius Olympiad 2025 in the United States—a global competition focused on environmental challenges and youth-led innovation.

Marie’s project, EcoBuild Innovations, is her vision for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. The project takes everyday plastic waste and converts it into durable, eco-friendly building materials including:

• Interlocking bricks
• Roofing tiles
• Paving slabs
• Wall panels
• Fence posts

These products provide practical solutions to two major global issues:

• The escalating plastic pollution crisis
• The shortage of affordable housing and construction materials in developing regions
